KEYC-TV: Alleviating The Child Care Shortage In Blue Earth County

EXCERPT: “All of greater Minnesota is facing a childcare shortage. In our area, several communities are getting the help they need to continue providing child care around Blue Earth County. Lack of child care has been an issue for years, preventing families from moving to small towns, stifling growth. Thanks to recent assistance, communities can now begin to make action plans to address shortages. ‘According to First Children’s Finance, we have about 107 slots that we’re short and that number is going to move depending on if we have new births or new people coming to the community so it’s just kind of a guide to use,’ Eagle Lake City Administrator Jennifer Bromeland said.
