Bemidji Pioneer: Rural Equity Project having a say in St. Paul

EXCERPT: “A group of statewide organizations have joined forces for a project they hope will increase the quality of life for rural Minnesotans. Growth and Justice, in a combined effort with the Coalition of Greater Minnesota Cities, the Greater Minnesota Partnership and the Minnesota Asset Building Coalition, are pushing the Minnesota Rural Equity Project. The work identifies legislative priorities for revitalizing local economies and reducing disparities in Greater Minnesota. ‘At Growth and Justice, we try to lift up good ideas and work with programs, such as the Rural Equity Project, to push forward policy and advocate for a better Minnesota,’ Growth and Justice President Jane Leonard said. ‘The Rural Equity Project has been going on for more than a year. We’ve done numerous listening sessions and have created a list of priorities for the Legislature to work on this session.’ Those priorities range from expanding infrastructure to human capital issues, such as creating more access to child care and early education.” FULLSTORY: http://bit.ly/2FV7qhQ
