Center presents rural data to state legislators

Center President Brad Finstad was invited to present an overview of the state of rural Minnesota to members of the Minnesota Legislature’s Rural Caucus Jan. 25, 2011 in St. Paul. The Rural Caucus was created late year in an effort to ensure a more concentrated representation of rural Minnesota; members, drawing from both the House and the Senate, represent a wide swath of Greater Minnesota. The group’s members are exclusively Republican at this point, but there is hope that rural members of the DFL party will also join. As a non-partisan research organization, however, the Center’s data and information-gathering capacity are available to anyone who needs information on rural Minnesota issues.
